Philosophy

Like many clubs, Courtside United competes in leagues and tournaments throughout the year, although our philosophy and approach is often found to be different from most organizations. We believe in quality over quantity in relation to the number of tournaments teams participate in, and are more concerned about the development of each player on the roster than national team ranking. Courtside United club members receive consistent training opportunities year-round, and priority access to all Courtside 360 clinics, camps and College IDs. Courtside United provides three divisional team programs - Black (National), White (Regional), Grey (Local). Through year-round programs, Courtside offers athletes of all skill level development opportunities at the Recreational level in addition to our Competitive and Elite tournament divisions. For our High School Black Division, platform, exposure, and recruitment is key. Regardless of team division – Player Development is our focus!

Player Development Program

Courtside’s programming focuses on Individual Player and Team Development through Private Training, Sports Performance, Skills Clinics, Sand Training, Elite Sessions, Educational Recruiting Workshops, League Play, and Tournaments – led by certified coaches and athletes with college/pro playing experience. Courtside’s diverse training staff offers a unique approach to athletic development and understand the discipline and mindset it takes to advance in your craft. Our staff currently train beginners and college athletes in volleyball, basketball, soccer, football, and track & field.

Courtside Culture

As the name Courtside United suggests, we consider our teams to be a family unified with a purpose bigger than volleyball. This can be uncommon within club sports. We train, compete, and grow as athletes and individuals. Courtside United is about complete development - making each person better - so that their influence makes others better. Our culture is character first, train and play second, but honor and impact always.

Thank you, 2025-2026 Courtside Families!

Thank you for being such an important part of our volleyball family this past season. We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and trust you invested in our program. In just two years, we’ve grown from two teams to eight, and that growth has created an exciting opportunity - and responsibility - for us to take the next step as a program.

As we look ahead to Year 3, we are excited about the direction the club is heading. We are continuing to build and strengthen the program in ways that will better serve our athletes and families. From player and staff development to program structure, to partnerships and events, our focus remains on creating an environment where players can thrive and share in meaningful sports experiences.

Courtside was founded on two pillars: player development and character development. In Year 3, we’re focusing on exactly that. We want this to be about more than just “club”. We want to become the best place in Fort Worth for athletic and personal development - and to develop beyond the court. We want to become the most authentic sports community you can find with the best environment. Our focus moving forward is simple: better, not bigger.

2025-2026 Players - Please wear a Courtside t-shirt when you attend tryouts. We want our new coaches to know exactly who you are!

This series is a great chance to show Courtside coaches your game! CUVB is seeking players to fill roster spots on 2026-2027 teams.

Our difference:

There’s an unfortunate negative perception of some amateur athletic programs. This may be due to an unfavorable coaching environment and a win-at-all-cost attitude, an unbalanced system that lacks focus on skill development where competing in overly scheduled seasons supersede training, or social pressure and financial strain on families. Our club platform sways from this structure and offers a unique alternative to the traditional format. While the spirit of the club is competitive and we play with intent to win, that is not our primary focus. Winning is the result, not the mission.

Chasing development, not hardware.

Instead of being focused on rankings, and consumed with out of state travel and the busyness of playing in multiple tournaments each month within an environment that leaves little time for player development, Courtside’s strategy is to train regularly, and play a healthy regular season schedule in the DFW area combined with a modest travel. Heavier schedules and travel are reserved only for eligible Elite teams. We feel this strategic approach allows for more training time spent on developing skillset and increasing IQ and better prepares athletes for high-level competition.

We strive to raise the bar on what a quality, enjoyable youth sports experience can be for the players, coaches, and families part of our club, as well as the facility operators and tournament directors we come in contact with.
